Our Go To Restaurants

A Peek Inside Our Kitchen

Our storefronts may be closed but we understand the importance of a milestone, which is why we have remained prepared, at the ready, to help you handle all the precious moments that still need to be special during these challenging times. We are here to help, maybe just for some much needed online browsing, but to support you nonetheless, as you face new truths each day.

While a home-cooked meal is a treat best enjoyed in the presence of friends and family, the honest truth lately, is that it makes for a lot of cleanup and sometimes a little headache and heartache over how things used to be. If it feels hard to put a pan on the stove or face the music of the dish mountain in the sink, we have been there. Maybe we are there now but we don’t have to talk about it, it’s fine.

For the secret pervading our kitchen and a true delight and respite when we need it most, check out these staples around Lower Manhattan. Yes, they all deliver and yes, we know from personal experience.

Da Claudio

Linda and Claudio Marini were making what we needed before, they are making it right now, and they will be making it tomorrow when you call between 5:00 and 9:00 pm to order some of their date night worthy, delicious Italian fare. They are a locally sourced, seasonally inspired team who import select ingredients from Italy to deepen the flavors in their dishes. House-made pastas and sauces have distinguished Da Claudio as a neighborhood establishment, rooted in Lower Manhattan for the last four years. Fortunately, there is also the option to make it a “treat yourself” day by adding on a selection from their wine or cocktails.

Pisillo Italian Panini

If you have lost track of the times, days, and decades that may have elapsed since February, we are on the same page. But Pisillo Italian Panini is open daily 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends and through 8:00 pm on weekdays to make sure you have a mouthwatering panini a call away no matter when you wake up. Carmelo, the owner, utilizes exclusively fresh baked NY bread and imports all his cold cuts and cheese from Italy. Served cold to preserve the integrity of the ingredients, these traditional, gigantic sandwiches come in 35 varieties with even more ways to customize to your liking. A hit with us, the number 26 Pisillo is sure to please but there are plenty of options available for anyone with dietary restrictions, preferences, or needs. Opened in 2013, Pisillo’s is grounded in a panini tradition dating back to 1936 when Carmelo’s grandfather opened his first storefront in Italy. You can’t tell us you don’t want one delivered to you yesterday.

Cowgirl SeaHorse

Last but not least, the comfort food of the South and the Gulf Coast, all that is Tex-Mex, Cowgirl SeaHorse will leave you smiling and potentially a little toasty if you prefer. Southern food is tried and true recipes born of generations, hours, and a love of food. Open since 2009, this establishment understands how to quench your thirst for late-night margaritas, satiate your weekend brunch cravings for biscuits and gravy, maybe even scratch that itch for some crispy, fried food. For the ones you love, including yourself, our kitchen secret is to enjoy a meal together, even if you don’t make it yourself and especially if it comes via delivery.

All these gems are less than a mile from us but we hope they’re close enough for you to try as well. We here at Martin Busch Jewelers will get back to designing and dreaming up pieces to accent your memorable moments. But if you’ve got any secret take-out and delivery spots of your own we should know about, we would love to hear about them!
