Top 6 Bars in FiDi NY

In New York's Financial District, people know how to work hard, but they also know how to play hard. The area, affectionately known as FiDi, is home to some of the Big Apple's best bars. These establishments promise high-quality drinks, great vibes, and so much more. Next time you're ready to let your hair down, head to these fantastic Financial District bars.

Trinity Place

After a satisfying meal at The Capital Grille, one of our favorite restaurants that deliver, follow Broadway to Trinity Place. Its bold vault-door entryway leaves no doubt you're in the Financial District. And it's not just for show. This FiDi bar and restaurant actually sits inside an old bank vault. The 40-foot mahogany bar is brand new, but the exposed steel walls remind you of the building's history.

No matter your poison, Trinity Place has you covered. Signature cocktails, including The Rose of Wall Street and The Trinity Paloma, always hit the spot. The Trinity also has an excellent selection of craft beers and a wine list celebrating the world's best regions.

If you're still feeling hungry, grab a snack from the bar menu. The mini Wagyu cheeseburgers and lobster BLT sliders are a cut above your average bar snacks. The Trinity also serves brunch, lunch, and dinner in its chandelier-decorated dining room.

Le Bar

Address: 225 Liberty St.

Le Bar proudly claims it's “relaxed enough for happy hour and sexy enough for a romantic date.” Whatever brings you to this elegant bar in the World Financial Center, this bar won't disappoint. The intimate interior makes enjoying drinks with your friends or someone special a real experience. Alternatively, head to the outdoor seating area and really soak up those Hudson River views.

As you might expect from its name, Le Bar embraces all things French. There's an impressive fromage and charcuterie selection and a small plates menu with croquettes and spicy tuna tartare. The range of signature frites feels so much more cultured than your average loaded fries. The all-European wine list features some of the finest drops from Burgundy, Alsace, and the Loire Valley. They're so good that Le Bar earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence last year. Cheeky cocktails like Picasso's Sidecar, Chalet, and Cosmo Blanc also celebrate Europe's most romantic nation.

Vintry Wine and Whiskey

Address: 57 Stone St.

Wine and whiskey may not seem like a natural marriage, but they're celebrated in equal measure at Vintry Wine and Whiskey. If options matter to you, you'll love it here. The founders claim that their selection is “one of the largest libationary libraries in New York City.” The wine list is exhaustive, with red, white, rose, and even orange wines from all corners of the globe. A whiskey flight can take you to Scotland, Japan, or all across America. The cocktail list is relatively small but considered, with creative concoctions designed to stretch the palate and delight the senses.

Soft lighting adds to this Stone Street bar's sophisticated atmosphere. As if you needed another reason to linger longer, Vintry's food options are also exquisite. There's cheese and charcuterie, along with chianti-braised veal meatballs, tortilla Espanola, and baked cavatelli with truffled mushrooms.

Fraunces Tavern

Address: 54 Pearl St.

Vintry Wine and Whiskey might claim the largest libation library, but Fraunces Tavern certainly gives it a run for its money. You'll find more than 200 different whiskeys, 130 beers and ciders, signature and classic cocktails, and an exhaustive wine list, too. If you're taking a break from the hard stuff, you'll appreciate the organic juices, mocktails, and other non-alcoholic beverages.

Fraunces Tavern is a New York institution. The bar was established in 1907, but the building's storied history dates back more than 300 years. There were times locals didn't think it would survive, but it always manages to bounce back better than ever. A museum on the second floor celebrates 54 Pearl Street's colorful life, especially throughout the Revolutionary War.

Fraunces Tavern hosts happy hour specials between 4 and 7 p.m. every weekday and live music on weekends. Jazz musicians help you shake off your hangover every Saturday at brunch. On Sunday, bid farewell to the weekend with traditional Irish bands.

Murphy's Tavern

Address: 6 Stone St.

Murphy's Tavern is a friendly Irish bar just a short walk from one of our favorite Lower Manhattan green spaces, Battery Park. It boasts Stone Street's best beer selection, with 10 different rotating draft beers from the United States and abroad. If you're not an ale drinker, you'll appreciate the signature cocktails, including the Arnold Palmer-inspired Broadway's Best and Brooklyn Cucumber. Wines and jugs of sangria round out the drinks' selection.

It might be an Irish bar, but Murphy's isn't afraid to mix things up. While there's shepherd pie and fish and chips on the menu, most meals have a more American flavor. You'll find all your bar favorites here, including burgers, mac and cheese, and 12 different flavored chicken wings. The bar also has Mexican meal deals and a trivia competition every Tuesday night.

Cedar Local

Address: 25 Cedar St.

A relative newcomer on the FiDi scene, Cedar Local has wasted no time in making its presence felt. Its brooding interior adds ambiance balanced by the friendly bar staff. They'll help you out if you're daunted by the comprehensive cocktail list. It features enticing concoctions such as Nectar of the Gods, Sweet Talker, and the always fashionable Upper East Side. Handpicked craft beers and ciders give patrons plenty of choices.

Don't expect your typical bar snacks here. Chic small plates including tuna poke taquitos, smoked pork belly sliders, and mole chicken nachos bring creativity to the bar space.
